Tribune. In recent weeks, in some Muslim countries, we have seen movements to boycott French products. The reason for this great mobilization is linked to the case of the cartoons of the Prophet that were republished in France after the death of Samuel Paty, beheaded by a terrorist in the name of islam, but also to the words of Emmanuel Macron promising not to "renounce" the cartoons.
As a Muslim, I find that the reaction of the vast majority of French Muslims is worthy, because they severely condemn this barbarity and ask not to link this terrorist to islam. Being myself a Muslim and a leftist humanist, I feel very badly the atmosphere of hatred and the statements in the media incriminating all Muslims just because the terrorist claims our religion. But the reactions outside France, in Muslim countries, are surprising hypocrisy. As a Uighur, a member of a predominantly Muslim people victim of a genocide carried out by China for four years in the total indifference of the world, and especially of Muslim countries, I could not help but marvel at this selective "anger".
If China continues to build and expand its concentration camps for Muslims with impunity despite all international pressure, it is mainly thanks to the unfailing support of its Muslim friends : let us not forget the list of shame of 50 countries, half of which are Muslims, who supported China's genocidal policy while 23 others, mostly Western, condemned it and called for the closure of concentration camps for millions of Turkish Muslims.
