Modern kazakh women and gender inequality

Women have experienced a lot during the existence of a human. The world haven’t reached the gender equality yet, and this fact brings a bunch of problems. Unfortunately, the most of them society prefers to ignore.

We all live in different countries and cities, but the issues in every part of the Earth are the same, only the severity differs. Kazakh women, surprisingly unaware of this, have been oppressed for centuries. National traditions are and always have been directed against equality, they restricted the female part of the population in various fields of activity. Many of them were rooted, but nevertheless a big part transformed and left their mark on the mentality.

In historical sources, the Kazakh woman is mentioned as an exemplary wife and loving mother, but no one says that she was a stranger in her husband's house (until she gives birth to her first child). She was obliged to "get up before everyone else, make tea, greet older relatives, always behave modestly, not to be the first to enter into conversation, but only to answer questions asked" (Bilu.Kz, 2012). Nowadays, a male part of Kazakhstan probably think, that women still only need to do housework and are not able to be effective in the other areas.Even though women have managed to prove themselves in all areas over the centuries, modern society continues to belittle their achievements. According to the Center for research on gender Economics at NARXOZ University, "kazakh women are paid 35% less than men" (Adi Turkaev, 2019), and moreover, a man and a woman who hold exactly the same job position have different salaries.

It is essential to eliminate the unfair attitude and patriarchal tone of society once and for all from the face of the earth. The first step of resolving the problem is more frequent coverage of the topic. Attracting more people to any issue increases the chances of resolving it as soon as possible.
