Some people say that teachers were primary providers of information in the past. However, today the world contains huge sources of information thus, teachers are no longer playing the main role in education. I disagree with this idea because the amount of information isn’t the true reason that either prevents or drives people to study.
Humanity is significantly evaluated when they learn how to store and share information in ancient times. This allowed peoples to collect, analyze, and transfer information to knowledge and then pass knowledge to the next generation. Through the years, people consolidated knowledge in books, in the libraries which eventually became free for all the people. Therefore, teachers are not the main source of information for at least a couple of centuries, but society still has them.
The major role of an educator is not merely providing information but leading their disciples through the education process. This process includes explaining some difficult matters that are elusive for novice students. Moreover, teachers give feedback for practical tasks, which is the most important part of education that allows students to remember gathered knowledge and understand how to apply it in the real world.
Additionally, teachers bring value in the psychological area. It is known, humans are lazy by nature; it saves inner energy by switching the brain in automatic mode and considerS the easiest issues until dangerous situations occur. So, people require some encouragement to struggle with procrastination and focus on tasks with a deferred reward, which is also executed by teachers.
To conclude, whatever amount or sources of information is available society can’t decline teachers because they play a significant role in different sides of the education process. But not just provide information.
