sAw, AVEZ, Nexus, and Lilmix prevailed in the second open qualifier for Flashpoint 2, becoming the final set of teams to qualify for the closed stage as they now await the announcement of the eight invited sides.
The second open qualifier for Flashpoint 2 played out in its entirely on Saturday, kicking off with an initial pool of 278 teams who faced off in a single-elimination, best-of-one bracket until just 16 remained.
From that pool, it was sAw and AVEZ who emerged victorious from the top portion of the bracket, with the former team taking down LDLC and FATE while the latter dispatched of C1Smix and Unique to claim spots in the closed qualifier.
The opposite side of the bracket saw Nexus secure a 2-0 win over Sangal before taking on Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski's Illuminar, a series in which the Romanian roster required all three maps to claim victory.
Meanwhile, stellar back-to-back series performances from Jonathan "b0denmaster" Bodenmalm helped Lilmix surpass 1WIN and Galaxy Racer, granting the Swedish side the final qualification spot on offer for the closed qualifier.
