10 Gadgets for the Home

So many of us love our electronic gadgets. When we can combine our gadgets and our living spaces, we love the gadgets even more. Here are 10 devices that will help make your house more tech savvy.

The Prizm – A Bluetooth connected speaker that plays music from almost any streaming music account. This isn’t just any old speaker; this one turns on the minute you walk into the room. Prizm will also learn your music preferences, including days and times for certain genres. Unbelievably, if a friend walks in who also is connected to a Prizm, your Prizm will play music that you both like.

Parrot Pot – If you are like me, remembering to water the houseplants is over the top difficult. Not with Parrot Pot. This ceramic pot holds two liters of water, which it releases through four water spouts. With its internal storage of 7,000 plants, Parrot Pot is bound to know exactly when to water and how much water your plant will need.

D-Vine Decanter – Here is your answer for a perfect glass of wine. D-Vine will use a tube filled with wine to serve you a glass at the right temperature. It even self-cleans itself when you want to switch in a new wine. Unfortunately, this gadget is only available in France, Belgium, and the UK, but there are plans to expand to other countries soon.

Bixi – Now you can control up to eight devices and apps without touching your smartphone. The device syncs with an app on your cellphone enabling you to program in eight hand gestures. An example, with a swipe of your hand left or right, Bixi can turn the pages on your Kindle. Bixi is able to communicate with almost all smart devices in your home, including thermostat, lights, locks, an even Netflix.

Twin Wash System – This is any families answer to the never ending loads of wash. LG’s Twin Wash System has a second washer beneath the main washing machine. This enables one to do two loads of wash at once. Additionally, it is connected to Wi-Fi, so if you don’t want your clothes sitting in the wash machine, you can receive notifications when the wash is ready for the dryer.

Sensorwake – Do you need the smell of coffee to wake you up? Do you feel groggy until you get that toast in the toaster? Sensorwake can help you wake up. This is an alarm clock that releases a different scent to get you up out of bed. If you don’t think the scent will work all the time, there is a backup alarm that can also be set.

Kube – Need an outdoor speaker for your next pool party? Make sure you get a Kube. This speaker is both waterproof and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled. For added surprise, the speaker also doubles as a cooler. The batter runs for 20 hours and the sound can travel up to 500 feet away. Unfortunately, this gadget is still in pre-production with expected availability in Q3 of 2018.

Family Hub Fridge – This is the ultimate in organizational appliances. When realizing that an item needs to be put on the grocery list, there is no need for searching for a pen or making sure paper is available, simply add it to the LCD screen on the fridge. Better yet, order the groceries directly from the screen. If that isn’t enough, the fridge has three cameras inside just waiting for you to search its contents while at the grocery store.

Perfect Blend – Gone are the days of writing down smoothie recopies and meaning everything out with cups. The Perfect Blend package includes a scale and an app that helps you create a perfect drawing. The app will tell you what speed to use and for how long. Additionally, the app will suggest a drink based off the ingredients you have on hand.

Holi – This is a very special and helpful alarm clock. Not only will it wake you, but it can alert you to traffic, update the weather forecast, and read your Facebook notifications. Not only will it wake you up on time, it has the ability to wake you up early if your daily commute will be hindered by traffic. No longer will you be late to work because of an accident on the highway!
