Manager's tools - I part.

The previous article was devoted to the topic "Project Manager". When I wrote the article and read it a couple of times, I realized that it's not so important what position you occupy at the initial or final stage of a professional trajectory. It is important to be able to manage yourself - here and now. Once you learn to do this, then you can learn new heights, new horizons.

And in this article, I want to state my ideas about what it means to govern myself and how?

I understand by the word management - is to keep several focus of myself in a single system, be able to adapt, be able to clear the control objects from the shell, and everything in this spirit.

So, when you control yourself, it means you control the flow of your thoughts, and thoughts are boundless boundaries. And your actions are a reflection of your thoughts. It is necessary to become subject to the control of oneself.

A person is subdivided, if to speak roughly, on the personal and public. Personal - it's you in all its manifestations: character, manner, habits, communication, etc. Public - this is your career growth, communication with people, building business communication, etc.

And in such a mass of everything important and complex, you need to learn sorty by everything into components and be able to work with them for the benefit of achieving goals and meeting personal needs.

Tools that will help manage yourself:

  • 4 Focuses - Stephen Covey
  • The 5S system
  • Experiments / Pj / Norms (hell week / 4 weeks to change themselves)
  • Re = const
  • 5. "The Principle of the R / RS Balance Sheet"

4 focuses – Stephen Covey

Man is composed of 4 focuses (ie vision youself ) for yourself:

1. Physical measurement

  • Provides effective care of your physical condition, eating the right food, adequate rest, regular exercise.

2. The Spiritual Dimension

  • This is your core, your center, your commitment to your value system.
  • It is fed by sources that inspire and exalt you, connecting you with the eternal truths of humanity.
  • You need to understand where you get the spiritual renewal - maybe in the daily reading of the Bible and thinking about the wisdom of Holy Scripture, maybe in reading and meditation. Only then will you feel refreshed, stronger, properly oriented and capable of further service.
  • The famous preacher David O. McKay said: "The greatest battles of life are day in and day out in the silent recesses of the soul." If you won this battle in your soul and managed to cope with the internal conflict, you have a feeling of peace and tranquility, you understand why you live on earth.

3. Intelligent Update

  • Continuous learning - broadens the horizon, is a vital intellectual renewal.
  • Proactive people are able to independently find many ways for self-education.
  • It is important to train the ability of your mind, from the side to study and analyze your own program.

4. Socio-emotional renewal

  • Socio-emotional dimension is focused on skills based on the principles of interpersonal leadership, empathic communication and creative cooperation.
  • The social and emotional dimensions of our lives are closely interrelated, as our emotional life develops and manifests itself primarily in our relationships with other people.
  • Mental balance arises only when your life is in harmony with true principles and values.
  • Sense of personal security one's of the most important sources of feeling, and your work, where your creative contribution leads to the desired results, changes the world for the better.
  • The main thing for you is to make other people's lives happier. The motive for you is the influence that you exert, not gratitude or recognition of your merits.

This all has a serious impact on your paradigm of yourself, your self-esteem, your sense of self-confidence and the integrity of your personality.

Practical suggestions:

1. Make a list of actions that will help you maintain a good physical shape that would fit your lifestyle and give you pleasure.

2. Select one of these actions and write down as your goal for the next week. At the end of the week, evaluate how you coped with the task.

3. Make the same list of updating actions for spiritual and intellectual measurements. In the socio-emotional area, list relationships that you would like to improve or special situations.

4. Make a commitment each week to make a plan of concrete actions on "sharpening the saw" to perform them and evaluate their actions and results.
