Tropico – economic strategy in which the player operates the fictional Latin American power, playing a role of the head – the president. The character can be adjusted to the taste: to give him character which will influence in turn the population and communications between other people.

The president moves between islands to adjust affairs and to solve the conflicts, for example: to restore production, to reconcile political parties and others. It is possible to go some other way. For example, to use objects for tourists as propaganda – the airship in the sky will remind that the dictator watches the subordinates.

Maps of the island help to plan strategy for the president. They show territorial distribution of resources, population density, crime, an ecological situation, economic indicators, a covering infrastructure.

In Tropico 4 money are the absolute tool of the power. They will help to accelerate construction of important objects, to water fields with a harvest, to extinguish the fires. Resources and money should use economically as sometimes there can be serious threats, such as natural cataclysms (a tsunami, a volcanic eruption or a tornado) or negative attitudes with other states (revolutionaries).

The IBM company together with the Seriosity agency has conducted a research — 200 respondents-employees of IBM who play World of Warcraft in free time have been chosen. On average 4 of 10 interviewed have confirmed that they use the skills received in an online game for achievement of higher career results.

Seven main skills to which players in World of Warcraft study:

  • Creation of virtual team and cooperation. The Raid leader (RL), so needs members of the road guild as far as they need it. At the same time most often members of one guild aren't in one room — in most cases they even live in the different countries..

  • Dynamism. At any time raid leader has to realize that occurs in a game and to correct team tactics. The result of raid in many respects depends on abilities of the leader to redistribute resources.
  • Transparency and accountability. Each player makes the contribution to success. And if someone has conducted raid inefficiently, a task of raid leader — to take necessary measures.
