How to make it in Finland

The bicycle cult

It is unlikely that you can not pay attention. There are bicycles in Turku literally everywhere. You can use personal or rent. For sports, for walking, the most diverse. Here bikes are used by all ages and strata of society. You can see a teacher in a suit, parking his bike next to the university building, and no one will be surprised. Why so?

As I was convinced, the bike here is a complete vehicle. For cyclists there are separate traffic lights and dedicated lanes to avoid colliding with pedestrians, so that everyone can comfortably move around. Frankly, for me it is a bit exotic, despite the fact that in St. Petersburg there is also a bike rental for exploring the city. But, unfortunately, in our city the roads are not equipped for this occupation as well as in Finland. I think that is why in my hometown this is not so popular.

Considering the sad state of our ecology in the world, it is wonderful when so many people in the country use green transport! I would like more people to share the love of such a vehicle🌿

The only thing that causes me a question is: how can the Finns not freeze while riding a bicycle in a cold, windy autumn? Share the secret :)
