The President of Russia Vladimir Putin said about the possibility of the continuation of the pipeline "Turkish stream" in Hungary.
"I do not rule out that after the completion of the Turkish stream, one of the land extensions of this gas pipeline can pass through Hungary," Putin said at a press conference following the Russian - Hungarian talks in Moscow. The event was broadcast by the TV channel "Russia 24".
According to the President, the possibilities of connecting Hungarian partners to new routes of Russian gas supplies to Europe are being considered.
"Turkish stream is a project without a transit export gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey through the Black sea and further to the border of Turkey with neighboring countries. The first line of the pipeline will be designed for the Turkish market, the second — for gas supply to southern and South-Eastern Europe. The capacity of each line is 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas per year. On October 10, 2016, Russia and Turkey signed an intergovernmental agreement on the Turkish stream project.
