Hello everyone. Today I want to tell you volcano Teide and eruptions.
Teide is located on Tenerife island in las Canadas caldera.And Tenerife is one of the biggest volcanic islands in Spain.
Volcano Teide itself is the highest place in Spain and the third highest volcanic structure in the world. It is the centre of national park Teide. It is height is 3718m. The formation of Las Canadas caldera began 170 000 years ago.
Today due to big amount of eruptions we can see Teide. Now some words about eruptions. A volcanic eruption is the release of hot gases, molten rock, and hot rock fragments through a volcano.
Volcanic eruptions can result in catastrophic property and human loss.
As for Teide, the 170 b Montanas Negras eruption destroyed the town and port of Carachico, as well as several smaller villages.
The last eruption was in 1909 on north west place of volcano. Now Teide is sleeping.
A few years ago I visited Tenerife island with my family.
I saw Las Canadas caldera and Teide itself. Unfortunately I didn’t have an opportunity to climb the volcano. But I was really admired of amazing landscapes there.
