The first place to visit is the local Notre Dame. The Cathedral of Luxembourg's Our Lady is one of the most impressive in the country. Masses are held here, and you can even see nuns and clergy. It’s always interesting to see things that you don’t have at home in Moscow. Everything is different, everything is otherwise. The acoustics in the church are fantastic. You can hear every rustle, every step, every word. Probably, the organ here sounds great too, but it was not playing.
Gothic Vianden Castle.
Climb a hill 450 meters high to find Vianden Castle. Once, it was a royal residence, and today it is the most beautiful place in the city. Did you know that Victor Hugo lived here and loved to look out the window of his room and write his famous works? Now anyone can visit his house-museum.
Bock Casemates - Things to see in Luxembourg.
Built in the 17th century under the now non-existent fortress. Storerooms, a prison, secret passages – you can see this and more here. Locals once used the casemates as a shelter from bombings.
