Иллюзия списка 100 лучших детских книг от BBC

Об этом писал дедушка Крылов:

"А вы друзья, как ни садитесь,

Все в музыканты не годитесь."

К BBC претензий нет. Компания описала свою методику четко. Пригласили 177 экспертов их разных стран, которые назвали по 10 лучших детских книг на их взгляд. Некоторые из экспертов известны в их собственной стране, некоторые - даже за ее пределами. Выбор редакции - ее дело.

Обращает на себя внимание, что 47 из 177 - это представители Великобритании. Вместе с представителями Австралии, Новой Зеландии, Ирландии, Индии и стран Содружества количество участников от короны Ее Величества достигает половины списка. Это существенно влияет на выбор в пользу британцев. Опять же дело редакции.

Выведение общего показателя по сумме баллов в пользу книги дело в этих условиях почти определенно предсказуемое. Поэтому вся сотня выглядит ЗАВЕДОМО ПРЕДОПРЕДЕЛЕННОЙ в целом, хотя некоторые участники сотни (сами 100 лучших книг опубликованы, например, здесь) и неожиданны. Но таковых мало. Некоторые из экспертов включали в список почти исключительно авторов своей страны или ближайших соседей, что в известной степени превращало работу в подобие Евровидения.

Так что ценность списка 100 лучших книг, составленного по результатам опроса, почти равна нулю, если не считать его прихотливо разбавленным списком по представлениям британского круга. Интереснее посмотреть на то, кого конкретно предложили представители от разных стран. Приведу весь список (читатель и сам в силах разобраться). Жирным шрифтом выделен эксперт, кто он и откуда:
