October is about to come - the most mystical month for me. ⠀
The month when you want to: watch the leaves turn yellow and fall; try all the chemical sweets that are sold in local shops; revisit your favorite retro horror films voiced by the voices of the "pirate" VHS era; and read. ⠀
Read a lot. Horror and mysticism, thrillers and detective stories.
It is for these sensations that I go to the thematic horror collections. ⠀
Visions of the Night is my perfect compilation on the eve of Halloween.
I'm not sure if I can recommend all the stories, but I think everyone can find something to their taste in it. ⠀
There are: a family of ghouls shying away from people, but still devouring one or a couple of children once a year; a mother driven to despair and ready to send her children to the angels; a witch who sent an epidemic to a small settlement; mystical incident in a psychiatric hospital; the legend of Jack and his lantern, where he came from, why he carries a coal in his turnips with him; the story of a little ghost girl who has jealously guarded her home for several centuries and much more. ⠀
All stories in one way or another are intertwined with folklore, legends and folk traditions and carry a certain instructive meaning that the dead need to be released, that they have no place among the living, no matter how much we love and miss them, and no matter who comes from the other side - this is not at all the person we once loved.
advise everyone who is interested in reading mystical stories and who is interested in Halloween.
But don't look for heartbreaking horrors here.
