🤔If you are interested in politics, or at least opened the latest news in the country, you probably saw how much resonance the election results in Russia caused. Let's look at the theory: what is the problem here?
To do this, we should return to the origins of the structure of the state.
🏛In the modern world, the structure of most countries can be written in one scheme: the highest power is divided into 3 authorities:
- 🥇Executive (President, Government)
- 📜Legislative (Parliament is the State Duma in Russia)
- 👨⚖ Judicial (courts)
It is the ways of dividing powers between these branches of government that determine the political regime in the country.
🙋♀️That is, the political regime: the order of distribution of power between individual branches
All political regimes can be divided into democratic and non-democratic:
- 👥 In the first case, power is exercised by the people (through the president and the parliament, who are elected by the people)
- 👤 In the second case, the power is exercised by a single ruler or a closed group
🚀Accordingly, the main factor in establishing a particular regime in the country begins with voting (and the election process itself): how did the executive and legislative authorities get their place? Was it chosen by the people, or were there certain falsifications that prevented the will of the people?
✅The democratic system is recognized throughout the world as the most legitimate, since it is based on the rights and freedoms of citizens to choose and fair representation. (others can lead to the unlimited power of the authority)
🌐Speaking about Russia, the media divided their opinions. (We recall the last incident: in the elections of deputies of the State Duma, the advantage of the Communist Party and the candidates of the "Smart Vote" were noticeable at all stages of the vote counting, especially in Moscow; however, after processing the results of online voting, the situation changed significantly in the direction of representatives of the ruling United Russia party). Some say that the election results were fair and open, while others insist on a recount of votes.
🏬Not only the legislative path that the country will follow in the next 5 years depends on the final results, but also whether the political regime of our country will continue to deviate from the democratic ideal (where unfair elections are followed by violations of human and civil rights and freedoms in other areas).
