Putin warned against "playing statistics" because of public sector salaries

Some services are adjusting the salary figures for workers in the most important spheres for society and the country, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with government members. The broadcast was hosted by the Russia 24 TV channel.

Putin recalled that the achieved level of salaries of employees in a number of spheres should not decrease, "that any kind of fiddling is unacceptable here." However, the president continued, in essence of the task set, "much in the little things changes."

He stressed that the point is in ensuring a decent level of remuneration for health care professionals, education, culture, social services, "the most important spheres for society and the country."

“However, very often we see, well, in any case it happens, let's put it neatly, that some of our services are playing statistics. We see a certain adjustment of the formal indicators, ”the president said.

As a result, it turns out that according to reports, "everything seems to converge", and sometimes due to various "tricks", including by transferring employees to a reduced rate while maintaining the actual workload.

“In this regard, I ask the government, together with the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, to promptly and extremely carefully study the state of affairs with the level of wages of state employees in all spheres and regions of the country,” Putin concluded. He also stressed that those responsible for the implementation of this assignment "need to understand the situation of each employee."
