Naïve art is a style of painting, very close in perception to a child's drawing. The simplicity of forms and plots is the hallmark of this stylistic direction. Naïve art began to be perceived as a separate artistic direction only in the 20th century, when the collection and commercial interest in such works increased significantly. Nowadays this term is most often understood as good-natured paintings depicting the life of an ordinary person.
Frida Kahlo is considered one of the artists of this trend. Frida Kahlo is a Mexican artist best known for her self-portraits. Her style of painting is characterized not only as naïve art, but also as surrealism. Frida's canvases contain a reflection of her life. Frida Kahlo's works were influenced by her husband, Diego Rivera. Her paintings are difficult and simple at the same time, and therefore excite the minds of people to this day.
