1. Strangers is a fresh detective from the coast of the Mist Albina. Professor John Molroy's lecture was interrupted to announce that his beloved wife Megan (important: they've been married for three years) in Hong Kong died in a car accident, and he is obliged to fly to China to officially identify his wife's body. Until now, John, suffering from a severe form of aerophobia, has never flown in airplanes. Having overcome his fear, John went on a difficult journey. Upon arrival in Hong Kong, the grief-stricken professor waited for another incredible shock, it turns out that his beloved wife Megan has been the wife of another man - David Chen for twenty years. That's the kind of farmer's glass, ladies and gentlemen. But that's not the end of the shock for John. The official cause of Megan's death is an accident. But just a few minutes before her death, she sent John a voice mail from which it is absolutely clear that she was killed. But the local cops strongly recommend that John admit it was an accident, calmly return to London and mourn the loss there. John, however, does not intend to get away with it by shaking his tail; he decides to find out for himself who killed his wife and for what.
Yeah. The status of the show is complicated. Everyone who watched a funny action movie Luke Besson's "Wasabi" - a persistent taste of duty to you provided. I don't know, maybe the writers don't know what Kuno already had. They woke up one morning and were happy - what a script idea did they come up with? And those who later read the script, too, "no sleep, no spirit"? Although, why not? I quite admit it. It is unlikely that "Wasabi" replenished the Golden stock of French cinema and became famous throughout the world. But everyone who at the moment has not understood a word of the above, then Strangers definitely have a chance you like it! The truth is true. Two husbands, two lives, two Megan, a mysterious death, the consequence is a failure of the professor, the triad ... Intrigues. And "how many wonderful discoveries have been saved for us by writers "for later".
Charming John Simm (Catch, Trauma, Doctor Who) and serious Anthony Vaughn (The Disenfranchised, Painted veil) is an absurdly charming couple of deceived husbands. Strong, self-confident David Chen and funny, clumsy, a fussy professor from London John Molroy - perfectly complement each other (as though Hubert and Momo in...well, you know). Megan can be understood, if from two such different men "to make" one, probably, would turn out ideal for Megan man. But it doesn't happen like that. So she had to be content with what she had - to live in two countries and have (in all senses of the word) two husbands. A funny Aunt Megan...was.
By the way, one of the female roles (I'll leave the intrigue) is played by Hogwarts's pupil Zhou Chang (Harry Potter's first love), in the world of Muggle actress Kathy Lung. The poor girl in her time raked on what in vain from the small Daniel Radcliffe fans before (!) his first appearance in the saga of Potter, so many washed on her poured out fans of this little asshole, and the reason for all - the first kiss of the sweet Harry. Oh, these young passionate hearts!
What else can I add? Strangers, in general, turned out to be a good detective with subtle motifs of the East. Melancholic, a little tight (eight episodes are too much for such a story), gloomy, without action - in general, everybody loves the English.
Ah, if it wasn't for Luke Besson. So he had to make a film seventeen years ago.

2. Missing Persons (Saknad) is a Swedish detective. Maya Silver, Stockholm Police Commissioner, comes to the small town of Bouguesunde to visit her daughter, who hasn't seen her for a long time. The same day a body of a young girl was found by the road, and the other one disappeared without a trace. Local police officers, having found out that the capital's cop is in town, ask Maya to help with the investigation.
This series is exclusively for connoisseurs of leisurely, measured, heavy, noir Scandinavian detective. Who is not a "connoisseur" do not even try - you can die of boredom. Believe me, I do not exaggerate. Sometimes, in the mood, I like to watch TV shows where there is no fuss, no one in a hurry, the rhythm of life "foot by foot", the people slightly skimmed, slowed down, but manage to solve the crime in parallel. When does everybody have time?)
The missing person was caught in the mood. I'm not sure that I would have been able to overcome this opus in the mode of "the mood of norms", everything was very sluggish, even for the Scandinavians. But in the state of mind of "all shades of gray" - four episodes passed on a hurrah.
