Is Reddit blocking 15% of Tor's output?

Lately, I've been getting blank pages with one word: "Blocked." Changing the exit node sometimes helps, but I suspect the plan is to ban them all/the vast majority of them.

At the end of April it happened again. This time, the user apparently made a connection between the weekend nodes and using Reddit only after not being able to cheat Reddit (or quickly), sending user headlines and changing the user agent from the agent default user sent to Tor Browser Bundle. This user took three attempts to reset the scheme to finally gain access to Reddit.

Reddit now blocks certain tor exit nodes and returns "blocked" pages.

I have no idea why this is happening, but if I connect to certain output sites, I just get a "locked" screen from reddit. I changed the title (didn't work), folded the diagram twice, but it didn't work, but on the third diagram it worked. I changed the user-agent and checked everything. Conclusion: reddit blocks certain tor exit nodes, so is there a way around that? (except reset scheme)

The simplest and safest solution is simply to select "New Identity" or "New Scheme for This Site" in the menu under the onion icon next to the address bar.

Custom entry and exit nodes

The following options can be added to your torrc configuration file or listed in the command line:

EntryNodes $, $1.30,...

List preferred nodes to use for the first transition to the chain if possible.

ExitNodes $, $1.50,...

List preferred nodes to use for the last transition in the chain if possible.

Exclude knots $ $, $3,...

A list of nodes you'll never use when building a circuit.

ExcludeExitNodes $, $,...

A list of nodes you never use when choosing an outlet. The nodes listed in ExcludeNodes are automatically included in this list.

I recommend you don't use them - they are for testing and may disappear in future versions. You get the maximum security that Tor can provide when you leave a route choice in Tor; Overdefining log/exit nodes can ruin your anonymity in ways we don't understand.

Also note that not every channel is used to deliver traffic outside the Tor network. It is normal to see exit-free schemes (such as those used to connect to onion services, those that sample directories, those used to self-test the accessibility of the relay, etc.) that end at the site without Exit. To prevent full use of the node, see "ExcludeNodes" and "StrictlyNodes" in the guide.

Instead of fingerprint, you can also specify the two-letter country code ISO3166 in curly braces (e.g. "de") or the IP address template (e.g. 255.254.0.0/8). Make sure there are no gaps between the commas and the list elements.

If you want to access the service directly through the Socks Tor interface (for example, using ssh via connect.c), another option is to set up an internal mapping in your configuration file using MapAddress. See the guide page for details.

I contacted Fastley for comment and they declined to comment. They ordered me to contact Reddit support - a useless task.
