A beautiful White Wolf and a sensual scene with him.
It was the cartoon "Bolto" that opened the window to the world of storyboards, concept art, footages and other materials, movie creation stories, original scripts and rejected / altered scenes and ideas.
Thanks to him, I am interested in how this or that creation of cinema was created. And this whole article is a bit of a tribute of respect and gratitude.
This is one of my largest works in the genre "Analysis of the canon in essence", with which I have been working for several years. (for the most part this is due to the fact that the London studio Amblimation, which just created and released the Balto cartoon in 1995, was disbanded and closed in 1997, and almost all the materials for the cartoon were either destroyed or lost - only now some of them periodically appear on various online auctions and on the sites of animators working on the cartoon).
Chapter 1.
Debriefing of story flights and opening of semantic covers.
The original was planned in only one copy. That is, without any sequels, prequels, animated series and spinoffs, regardless of whether it pays off or not. One, complete and complete, not requiring continuation.
Everything was fine. But then suddenly, after seven years, completely different people woke up, a completely different team, and for some reason decided to make low-budget sequels (for the sake of money, of course).
However, the scriptwriters who worked on the first film were invited to create the trikvel, so things are much better with him.
"Heritage of the Wolf", scene with the White Wolf. Thanks to this, the first cartoon is remembered. The best scene.
Powerful, beautiful, dumb and emotional, important and piercing, making its goosebumps and bewitching, breathtaking. You worry about Bolto here. You sympathize with Bolto here.
If the whole cartoon was like this scene, it would undoubtedly become a masterpiece of animation of those years. The stately, mysterious beautiful White Wolf, towering in bulk above the half-breed and urging Bolto to stand up and not give up when he was already weak and lost all hope of saving baby Rosie, lowered his paws and let the storm and cold take his life.
How Bolto is afraid of him, ashamed of himself, they say, how can an unworthy dirty mestizo be next to such a beautiful and elegant creature. He is the brightest creature in this scene among pink, lilac, grayish and bluish colors, among a blizzard.
White, that is, pure and noble in contrast to the unclean and spotted Bolto, free and not subject to contrast with Bolto, still unable to understand who he really is.
Plus, if you look closely, you can see that the movements of the White Wolf almost exactly repeat the movements of the wolf pack from the very beginning of the cartoon.
By the way, in the song "Reach for the Light", which sounded in the credits, there are several lines about the White Wolf and its role and essence in the plot:
Somewhere inside of you
There is a force that has no name.
She will appear at the right time
And light up like a flame ...
This is the key to understanding what the White Wolf is.
This is salvation from death, a second wind. This is strength, nobility, inner rebellious spirit, purity and power, accompanied not only by combining the footprint of a wolf's paw, but also with a booming melodic wolf howl.
Bolto realizes himself as a wolf and at the end of the path changes, gaining self-confidence and "reborn" after this significant meeting. Of course, this is the best that is in the cartoon.
