Many people have seen the American blockbuster King Kong; in fact, King Kong is a mountain gorilla.
At present, there are only 800 mountain gorillas in the world, mainly living in the alpine rainforests of the Congo, Rwanda and Uganda. This is the world's 10 extinct animals, very valuable! I always hope to see the King Kong style!
However, it is not easy to see gorillas. For security reasons, most people choose gorillas in the "Brundi National Park" in Uganda. Usually, tickets must be booked in advance for one year and the fare is $500. He can organize and observe 8 people, not only to see gorillas, but also to see your luck. So the exact way to see gorillas is to "track mountain gorillas" - they are written in booklets.
In July 2011, my first destination in East Africa was to look at gorillas.
We rented a buggy in Nairobi, drove to Kampala, Uganda, and bought a ticket booked by a Kenyan travel agency manager.
On July 15th, we drove in the afternoon. We arrived in a small village near Bwindi National Park in the evening (Bwindi, the southernmost point of Uganda). The hotel reservation is $200 per night. It is very simple. There is no electricity in the hotel. There is a hotel. A small generator that will be sent every night and morning.
I checked all the photo equipment carefully and prayed for the good weather tomorrow!
On July 16th, we set off at 6 in the morning and drove for an hour and a half before we began to observe the management of the gorilla.
Very lucky - the weather is very sunny!
After registering and introducing the admission rules, we started to enter the park to track gorillas at almost 9:00.
We are four Chinese, the rest are foreigners, and the photographic equipment is heavy. Each of us hired a young man to help us with our backpack and tripod.
We have 8 spectators and 5 spectators in the guide. Before we arrived, they had already found the location of the gorilla on the mountain and then came back to pick us up.
The road about two kilometers ahead was very good and then entered the depths of the forest. There are no roads, dense forests, almost all of them are low bushes, and the guides use choppers to cut bushes and move forward. Walk in front of the team, 2 guides behind the temple. This is the usual way of gorillas. Although the weather is fine, my legs are slippery and I can't stand it. I also have a heavy camera. Most of the time I rely on guides and young people to help me pack. I started. I realized what it means to "track gorillas" and the so-called "a national park that cannot be crossed!"
The tour guide asked us to keep quiet as much as possible so as not to disturb the gorillas. When I fell, I suddenly saw a young gorilla playing on the top of the tree. When I lifted the camera, it disappeared. Then, on the way, I met two gorillas, one of which was a gorilla with a silver back, but the forest was too dense and quickly disappeared.
This road is too difficult to leave. We are a bit disappointed. I can't help it anymore. My interlocutor said that if he can come back immediately, he will not look at her, but he will not come back and can only follow. I think we are very lucky. If it rains, then it will be completed, there is no way to enter, the tree says, it is raining often, it is awesome to rain!
We crossed the stream at the foot of the mountain and turned around the corner. We saw a young gorilla lying on a tree 10 meters from us. She didn't move there, looked at us for a while, and then it looked like she was angry. Both eyes widened and stood up and hit the chest. We were a bit worried, but it was calm, sitting for a while, still hiding in the forest. We saw this process very clearly and took a clear gorilla.
I started climbing. At the point where I returned to the crossroads, an adult gorilla hid in the bushes and ate the leaves. The guide let us quietly approach him. He saw us, but did not move, ate the leaves. The tour guide was very slow. A small tree blocked it. This time it was too close to the gorilla. It was less than 3 meters away. It was too clear. His big hand and the beard at the corner of his mouth were very clean. I used a clearer image. Shot from a wide angle. It looked very obedient, ate some leaves and slowly climbed into the depths of the forest. Our gorilla tracking is also a complete conclusion!
But I still have a little regret, not shooting gorillas on the silver base!
It is already 11 o'clock to return to the road we arrived. We sat and ate. The tour guide said. This is a gorilla family with 5-6 gorillas.
We returned to the management office, and the management office sent us a commemorative certificate with the name on the certificate and Bwindi's date to visit the gorilla.
We saw the gorilla, and tomorrow we will go see the Pygmies.
Dear $500 ticket!
