1. Practice, practice, practice...
In the previous articles I said you could speed up your progress if you just find somebody to talk to in English. Basically, It's true. But even if you've done so, you still need tremendous number of words, improve your vocabulary and work on grammar sometimes. Nobody learnt English in a minute. Learning any language takes definite amount of time and energy. How fast you'll start to speak and moreover speak well depends only on you. The more you practice the better you are. If you have English lessons in school, don't miss it, always do homework( Even though I don't like school system..). If there is an English speaker somewhere close to you - come on, try talking to him! In other words - use any given chance to get better!
2. Love what you do
It's always easier to learn a language if you love it, if you don't think of it as a waste of time and never count hours spent on it, if you do it yourself without a teacher making you do that.
People who love English obviously learn it at least 10 times as fast as other lazy guys who don't love. Just because the second ones are forced to study English only when their teacher wants them to do so! You're ( hopefully ) an exception and you love it! It means you'll succeed!
3.What about motivation?
It's quite an important part. As you know, a lot of people learn English for particular reasons, let's say educational ones, for work, to go to another country. So, these people have something that always makes them to keep on learning. And it's good. They are literally forced to learn by their dreams and final results which are related to English. If English is associated with some prize you eventually can get, you rarely want to give up. Meanwhile, if you do it for fun, you'are not limited to time. You know that you can work on it tomorrow or a day after tomorrow..even in a year..without time limits. Such approach is not correct and slows you down, because to succeed you need to work regularly.
So, the main message is find your reason. Deeply think about it and find your own reason, motivation. Think about how your life will change if you learn English, think about new opportunities, advantages etc. It's so helpful. Trust me.
