COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE ADJECTIVES
Formula for 'short' adjectives (big, small, hot, etc.)
+er: colder, longer, older
the +est: the coldest, the longest, the oldest
Formula for 'long' adjectives
more +: more interesting, more popular
the most +: the most imteresting, the most popular
❗Of course, there are irregular adjectives (see the pic)!
AND there are two-syllable adjectives with -y at the end:
busy - busier - the busiest
happy - happier - the happiest
AND there are some two-syllable adjectives which can also take -er and -est endings (🤔who knows why?)
clever - cleverer - the cleverest
quiet - quieter - the quietest
BTW, what's the difference between 'older' and 'elder', 'the oldest' and 'the eldest'?
