Task3. You are going to give a talk about TV. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and speak for not more than 2 minutes (10–12 sentences).
Remember to say:
● whether watching TV is a popular pastime with teenagers, and why, or why not;
● how many hours a week you watch TV;
● what TV programme is the most popular within your family;
● what your attitude to TV is.
You have to talk continuously.
It is well known that watching TV is a leisure pastime. However, teenagers these days are not too keen on watching TV. At least within my friends there is no anyone who watches TV much. I think the reason is that nowadays we have other resources of entertainment.
As for me, I sometimes watch TV , maybe twice a week. I prefer watching sitcoms. As I do not have much free time, I often watch them on the Internet.
I have to admit that in my family my parents and my grandparents enjoy watching TV, especially my father. Actually, he is fond of watching the news. As for my mother, she always spends a couple of hours in front of a TV set in the evening, her favourite programmes are talk shows.
I think that in our fast - paced world we have a lot of opportunities to get information and to entertain apart from TV. Our generation has the Internet, which is the main resource of getting information of any kind. Though, sometimes it is so comfortable to sit in a cozy armchair with a cup of tea watching a good film on TV.
