Today I would like to start new series of publics for my English-speaking friends and visitors. The idea of this series is to show "other" Russia, my real country.
I remember a case when I arranged short trip to Moscow to one of my US partners. It was in 2005. We had 3 days business talks and at the last night my partner told me: "I have spent 3 days in Russia but have not visited Moscow" I told him: "Let's seat into my car and go to Moscow downtown". It was 11 p.m. and we were 40 kms away from downtowm. It was quite snow winter. When we were walking on Red Squer my partner told me his story. It was his first trip to Russia. And his farhter (who liver in Cold war period) told him different "stories" about crazy Russian communists, bears everywhere and vodka. But I showed him another Russia. Let's go with me and I will show you another Russia too.
Recently I was on a business meeting at Moscow City. This is modern part of the town with skyscrapers. Most of fancy international companies prefer to have their offices here. I have not shown this part to my US friend last time, but may be he will see it this time.
This picture shows wonderful combination of modern buildings and Russian traditions.
And this is one of favourite place for taking sun bathes in Moscow. No people now because it is early morning. But 2-3 hours later crazy Russians will take off their clothes and sit on this seats for taking sun bathes. Hey, come on! This is joke! It is -15C now. We prefer have ice sweaming in such weather. And this is true and I will make one more publication about ice sweaming in end of January. I do it myself for 20 years already.
Moscow city is based on a river side. This is very picteresque place.
On the one side you can see modern buildings, and on the other side you can find heritage of Soviet Union. Some old factory which is not used now. Old ruin in the downtown of Moscow. Modern City right behind my back.
And if you walk down the river 5 minutes you can find heart of Russian Government - White house.

This is one of 7 famous buildings which called "Stalin's skysrapers". Onother one if Ministery of Foreign Affeirs of Russia. Some other just "normal houses for Moscow people". You can see old Soviet skyscraper and modern Russian skyscrapers on theme picture.
As you can see, nobody changed the name of "Ukraine" or destroied this building. Actually nobody care about the name "Ukraine" here. This is small "political remark" in my block which I prefer to avoid.
Actually Moscow if very friendly city for everybody. I have started this series to attact my foreign friends to Russia. You can share this link with other people who wants to read more about Russia. And I will continue my English publics. This is New Year decorations period in Moscow and it looks better than most of EU capitals now. You will see it shortly.
