When you are in the mountains, groups or lonely black birds constantly flash before your eyes. I am sure that few people know something about them, and simply do not pay attention. Well birds and birds. Until recently, I myself did not know what kind of birds they were, but when I visited Austria, where there are just whole flocks in the mountains, they really interested me.
So, we meet! Alpine jackdaw!
For the first time, it seems, I met them in Switzerland several years ago. In Abkhazia, I had not seen it before, sort of.

About the jackdaw
Alpine jackdaw (lat. Pyrrhocorax graculus) is a species of bird from the Corvidae family, a close relative of the nestling tree. It lives in alpine regions at an altitude of 1500 to 3900 m above sea level.
Alpine daw flies very well, using air currents for soaring. She easily follows relatives and shows amazing flying maneuvers. This bird is very social and most of the time is observed in large schools consisting of more than a hundred individuals. In search of food leftovers, an alpine jackdaw often loses fear of humans and appears at ski huts and ski lifts.
Alpine jackdaw is found only at high altitude. Not being a migratory bird, it lives all year round in one place. Its distribution range includes the Alps, Pyrenees, Atlas Mountains, the Italian region of Abruzzo, the Balkan Peninsula, Cyprus, the south of Turkey, the Caucasus, as well as the Himalayas.
The food of the alpine jackdaw in the summer consists mainly of insects and invertebrates, and in winter from berries, seeds, eggs and garbage.
Especially arrogant look does not know
A particularly arrogant look does not know what is impossible with a table with legs!
Alpine jackdaw nests on steep and hard-to-reach rocks. The nest is built in crevices and other cavities. At one time, the alpine jackdaw lays from 3 to 5 eggs, which it incubates from 18 to 21 days. Hatching cubs spend a little more than a month in the nest before becoming independent. In the wild, the lifespan of these birds reaches 20 years.
Go left - to Ramsau
You’ll go to the left - you will get to Ramsau, you will go to the right - you will find a horse
In general, as it turned out, very specific representatives of birds. In an ordinary environment you will not meet. Indeed, they fly like real aces. They can fall off a cliff with a stone down, and then spread their wings and soar, apparently receiving the same unspeakable pleasure as the baysers from their jumps.
They are really very arrogant. They are not at all afraid of people. We somehow sat at a table on Sudenweghutte, drank tea, and they sat down on our table, then next to us on a bench and looked into our mouths.
Of course, their largest cluster can be found next to some sort of mountain shelter. Near livestock pastures on the slopes. Less often high-high. There they just relax, being at ease, writing out crazy pirouettes.
