Hello! You are on the channel All or nothing, thanks for reading me! Glad to see you and enjoy reading!

1. Lullaby

Adults often make the mistake of playing night melodies: they sing in such a way that a threat is clearly heard in the “Spooning Snow Interfering”, and the motive is more like “Don’t think about seconds down…”. Such a song can only strengthen the child's belligerent mood. Pull gently, mournfully; even if you don’t hit the notes, don’t take it above the first octave. High pincing sounds will scatter the child’s soul, and the cat will begin to sing along. Transfer your favorite rock classics to the folk song motif, perform Coldplay, but as if the soloist caught a cold. And most importantly: do not rap in any case. No matter how well it starts, the performer inevitably begins to shake his head and wave his arms, pretending to have a gun in his hand.

Why does it work. Specialists at a medical center in New York studied the effects of three types of sounds on premature babies. Scientists had at their disposal an instrument that imitated those sounds that the child hears in the uterus, a drum that sounds like a heartbeat, and ordinary lullabies performed by parents, without musical processing. All the melodies were more or less effective, but the champion title should be given to a lullaby. It was they who helped the children stay calm for as long as possible.

2. Motion sickness

If the child is older than two years, motion sickness is good only in a hammock: gently push it, without changing the amplitude. Measuring swaying even leads an adult into a trance, so you can find yourself unconsciously following someone else’s orders: "Get up, bring a hare, sing a song of a fly." This method has a nuance that somewhat undermines confidence in the hammock: when the child falls asleep, he must be transferred to a normal bed with a dense mattress. Most children are just waiting for this moment to wake up.

Some babies are most likely to calm down if they are pumped up and down. This makes desperate parents crouch with the client in their arms. After it is appropriate to proceed to the slopes and turns of the body. Using a short break on the fitball, complete the stretching exercises.

Why does it work. Carrying and shaking the child is natural and extremely useful. A 2013 Japanese study found that most mammalian children calm down when mothers wear them. In addition, pitching helps children's sensory and motor systems coordinate. And a 2019 study claims that wiggle also contributes to better memory performance. True, the experiment was conducted without the participation of children - only with young people and mice. But both young men and rodents had a positive effect.

3. Reading and bedtime story

Calm children can fall asleep during the fairy tale, just at that moment when the Wolf lurked in the bushes to jump out on Little Red Riding Hood. But anxious guys will closely monitor the plot until the moment with the wedding, when someone had a mustache. If you intend to lull a child with a fairy tale, choose a story in which nothing happens: boring verses about a white bull, a long story, how you went to Vladivostok by train, retelling of the series “Sex and the City”.

Why does it work. Studies that focus on reading out loud tend to focus on intellectual benefits and ignore all the other benefits. Scientists at the University of Sussex conducted experiments with adults and found that reading in just six minutes reduces stress by 68%. That is, the book acts more powerful than a walk or a video game. There is no reason to believe that the effect of reading on children is much weaker. Scientists believe that this is an extremely successful way to relax with your own imagination.

4. Stroking

It’s important for some children in the evening to relax the body, for which a light massage is used: the parent repeatedly passes his hand over his hands and feet, saying something kind and stupid like: “Sleep, handle, sleep, leg!” Some stroke the bridge of the nose.

Why does it work. A gentle maternal massage helps babies cry less and sleep better, say scientists at the University of Warwick in the UK. They studied several works with data on nearly six hundred babies from birth to six months. In children whose parents mastered dexterous strokes, less stress hormone, cortisol, was released. And one of the studies completely related the production of melatonin, sleep hormone, and tactile stimulation of the type “rails-rails, sleepers, sleepers”. In general, stroking more - sleeps harder.

5. Meditation

If children from four years old are busy for a long time and always call you to their room, offer them a meditation session. Encourage your child to take a comfortable pose, relax and focus on breathing. Let him watch the smooth movement of his abdomen: inhale and exhale, as the leg no longer scratches the other leg, and the hand ceases to stretch the eyelids - in general, it is very useful to pay attention to your body and sensations.

Engage in visualization: ask your child to imagine how he floats on a silver river, flies over a field with dandelions, hears pine trees swaying ... If a child comments on his trip, something goes wrong. It is you who should conduct the session, and not he to tell you about how to behave with the revitalized pines and the dinosaur, which he met over the field with dandelions. It’s not a sin to use ready-made texts, for example, from the book by Elin Snel “I am calm and attentive, like a frog. Meditation for children and their parents. ”

Why does it work. Studies conducted with older and young people have shown that meditation can fight insomnia no worse than medications. Lack of sleep is closely related to stress, and a person who focuses on breathing does not spend time worrying about anything. He generally turned mentally into a caterpillar and crawls along a leaf.

Although the child does not look like a pensioner, there is every reason to believe that meditation will help him relax and go to bed before the start of the parent series.

6. Lack of light and white noise

Very young children are sometimes lulled by a monotonous sound: a working washing machine, a hissing radio, someone's monotonous mumble, and sometimes even the sound of a ping-pong ball. Parents of babies, trying to convince them to fall asleep, often start to vacuum or dry everything with a hairdryer. They also argue that it works better. Unfortunately, these events negate all the joy of a baby who has fallen asleep: you still have already launched the washer and started to clean the apartment.

It happens that the child does not close his eyes, but in horror he watches as mom stands next to him with the hairdryer turned on, and dad taps a ball on a tennis racket. In this case, spit on this method and move on to the next.

Why does it work. Blankets and pillows await children only in a soothing atmosphere. Experiments involving children from three to five prove: if, before going to bed, participants are sitting in a room with a dim light bulb and curtains closed, melatonin is produced as it should: already around eight in the evening the child rubs his eyes. But bright lighting suppresses melatonin and confuses the body, so it is better to plan a game of interrogation with a light bulb in the face in the morning.

Also be careful with white noise. Scientists have long recommended this method, but it never occurred to them that someone would buy a special machine to create white noise and put it closer to the bed. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends monitoring decibels in children. This is important - you can’t try to drown out the neighboring firecrackers or Uncle Toli’s accordion with white noise. It should remain a quiet background sound.

7. The game of imitation

Sometimes a small and surprisingly vigorous person just needs to show that night is time for sleep. Desperate parents lie down nearby, turn off the light and pretend that they are already sleeping, in the hope that the child will follow their example. Unfortunately, putting an average parent to sleep is many times easier. A poor child has to wake mom or dad more than once so that they again and again show how it is to put their faces in a pillow.

Why does it work. When dad and mom finally finally swim away in the waves of sleep, the child will have the opportunity to relax from all ways of laying down, take a breath and think in silence about his own.
