Do not choose a salary profession Profession Ratings Analysis

Оглавление

Hello! You are on the channel All or nothing, thanks for reading me! Glad to see you and enjoy reading!

The article is subjective and expresses the personal opinion of the author.

Labor Day May 1 and, most importantly, the approaching graduation of thousands of schoolchildren makes the topic of choice of professions particularly relevant. How to choose? What to look at? Which is better? In the era of ratings, of course, there are also ratings of professions: the most “best” and the “worst”. In different cases, depending on the angle of view, there are objective evaluation criteria that are useful when choosing a profession. Let's look at them.

I must say right away that you should not choose a profession according to only one criterion, for example, salary. What is the point of a high salary if you can leave your health at work or not see your family at all? Many will say, “I’ll earn money, and then I will change jobs.” In practice, so rarely does anyone succeed, so look carefully at all the nuances of the profession.

Criterion number 1 - salary

Everything is simple here: the higher the salary, the better the profession. Which professions in Russia are the highest paid (in 2018), according to official figures?

  • Cosmonaut (more than 1 million rubles per month). What, have already stood in line there, "where they teach on the astronaut"?
  • Captain of the Navy and aircraft (400-550 thousand rubles). Being a captain or a pilot is beautiful, like in a movie, but families rarely see them, and work is stressful.
  • Financial director in a large company (about 500 thousand rubles). Here it is, a dream in its purest form: "sitting on a bag of money."
  • Technologist of the gold mining industry (about 330 thousand rubles). Technologists from other industries pay less.
  • Coaches of the Olympic team and national teams of hockey and football teams (300 thousand rubles). But if your team loses, the whole country swears at you.
  • Highly qualified engineers (up to 250 thousand rubles). You need to be technically smart.
  • Narrow doctors (dentists, gynecologists, obstetricians, vascular surgeons and others) in private clinics (up to 250 thousand rubles). Both knowledge and skills are needed, plus this is a physically difficult job.
  • IT analytics (up to 200 thousand rubles). These are experts from another planet, obviously not for everyone.
  • Oil workers (150-170 thousand rubles). There are significant disadvantages: dangerous working conditions, stress due to great responsibility, a long separation from the family (shift work method).
  • Realtors (up to 150 thousand rubles). Income depends on the number of transactions - they receive a percentage. The work is nervous.
  • Scientists (up to 130 thousand rubles). It is doubtful, although there may be such figures in the defense industry.
  • State federal employees (an average of 120 thousand rubles). There are no comments, now everyone wants to be officials.
  • Insurers, lawyers and financiers in large companies (80-120 thousand rubles). Qualifications and communications are important.
  • Chef (75–120 thousand rubles), in Moscow - twice as much. Take a look who has the ability. The work is hard.
  • Engineer (in Moscow - 60-100 thousand, and in the regions - 30-50 thousand rubles). A worthy profession.

I repeat, this is official data, based on the “white” salary on average for the specialty in the country. The “gray” salary may be higher. The level of remuneration in Moscow and large companies can be several times higher than average figures, but in general it is clear where to go.

There are also “anti-rating” professions where they pay very little, although work can be no less responsible and difficult. They included such specialties: plumbers, locksmiths, kitchen workers, storekeepers, nurses, administrators (secretaries), postal workers, sellers, watchmen, cleaners.

Not everything is so simple. From experience, I’ll say that a good secretary in a large company can earn as a deputy director, because he solves issues as a deputy director. Sellers in the segment of luxury goods and even plumbing can earn very well.

Criterion No. 2 - working conditions

Of course, work "in the field" in any weather can not be compared with work in a warm office. It’s clear what profession will lead you to. It is also important to understand what sores you will earn on it. You may not believe it, but more than a third (38.5%) of all workers in Russia work in conditions that are harmful to health. Harmful working conditions include environmental conditions and the labor process, the impact of which on the worker can cause occupational disease, poor performance or impair the health of posterity.

Here are industry statistics. The number of people employed in harmful and / or dangerous working conditions (for 2016, for some reason, for 2017 and 2018 there are no data):

  • Mining - 55% of all workers work in harmful conditions.
  • Manufacturing industry - 42%.
  • Transport - 39%.
  • Construction - 38%.
  • Production and distribution of electricity, gas and water - 36%.
  • Agriculture - 30%.

The most common hazard is noise. It is the cause of 27.2% of all occupational diseases, not only in Russia but also in the world. Hearing loss is the third most common disease among adults, so if your job is noisy, think about it: do you need it?

Among the other most dangerous factors: gravity, dust (welding, driving and servicing vehicles, work in boiler rooms or laundry, research and analysis in chemical laboratories), vibration. In addition, there is a separate stress factor at work, which many consider the most dangerous for humans.

There are also dangerous professions where there is a real threat to life; some of them are paid well. In Russia and in the world, these professions practically coincide. In the first place among the dangerous is the profession of a miner, then there are professions related to law enforcement agencies, and the profession of a journalist. The risk of death here is high. The professions of increased danger also include the professions of a nanny, teacher, secretary, builder, doctor, entrepreneur, politician, and many others.

Every day in the world from various injuries associated with professional activities, nearly six thousand people die. Moreover, about 90% of all victims are men.

Top 10 most dangerous professions in Russia (2018) according to Rosstat: fishermen, builders, drivers, lumberjacks, miners, sailors, farmers, pilots, scavengers, workers in factories. In Russia, 1.14 thousand people died in production in 2018, and 25.4 thousand people were injured. For comparison - a list of the most dangerous professions in the United States: fishermen, lumberjacks, flight engineers and civil aviation pilots, steelworkers, employees of waste processing enterprises, farmers, electricians, heavy truck drivers, agricultural workers and builders.

Criterion No. 3 - nature of work

For many young people, it matters whether the work is creative or monotonous, dynamic or boring, in a comfortable environment or in a completely uncomfortable place. Status is also important for them and for the profession to be fashionable. Here is one of the many ratings of “fashionable” professions in 2018: designer, photographer, stylist, plastic surgeon (these definitely make good money), astrologer (numerologist), copywriter, taster, promoter, nutritionist, fitness instructor.

Criterion No. 4 - Perspective

Nobody is given to know exactly the future, but there is no shortage of forecasts. Here are the most common “promising” professions that will be in demand in 10–20 years.

  • IT-specialist. Some say that this is one of the most sought-after professions of the future, others believe that only super-specialists will be in demand, the rest will be replaced by artificial intelligence.
  • Doctor. Due to the mass aging of the population in developed countries (including Russia) and environmental degradation, the need for doctors will increase. For example, an allergist is still very popular today.
  • Engineer. The technique is getting harder and harder. This means that the role of the engineer will increase, they are already in short supply.
  • Marketer. With a lot of competition in the market, they have a chance to catch luck. First of all, from active professionals who know how to work with clients.
  • SEO specialist and SMM manager. Almost all information and advertising today is on the Internet and social networks.
  • Auditor. The need for financial control will only increase.
  • Notary. Not a single legal operation passes without its certification.
  • Logistician. In connection with the development of transportation, the demand for logistics specialists is growing.
  • Specialists in the field of the beauty industry (massage therapists, stylists, hairdressers and nail service masters). Demand for external beauty is growing steadily.

Surely specialties will appear that we have not heard of today. Keep your nose upwind! I hope the review will help you find out where the best way to keep, what profession to choose. Do not forget that not everything is measured in money, but without them it is sad. Choose the best solution for yourself. Good luck!
